Boy to appear in court for strangling mother
It's alleged the boy's mother hit him with a brick & poured boiling water over him before he killed her.
JOHANNESBURG - A 14-year-old boy, who allegedly killed his mother, is expected to appear in the Westonaria Magistrates Court this morning.
The teenager apparently strangled his 36-year-old mother in their Waterworks informal settlement home, south of Johannesburg, last Thursday.
Reports from the police suggest that the boy and his mother got into a scuffle in their home late on Thursday.
The boy's mother was apparently looking for her pink hat and wanted to know from her son where it was.
She then apparently started hitting him with a brick before pouring boiling water from a kettle over him.
The police's Tsekiso Mofokeng has confirmed the teenager was taken to hospital for burn wounds.
"The police took him to the hospital for treatment on the burn wounds and injuries that resulted from the bricks that was thrown at him."
Mofokeng says the teen ran to his aunt's house after the crime and confessed to killing his mother.
