'Gugulethu must not tolerate violence and abuse'
Mcebisi Skwatsha has called on the Gugulethu community not to accept women and child abuse.
CAPE TOWN - Rural Development and Land Reform Deputy Minister Mcebisi Skwatsha has called on the Gugulethu community not to accept the violence inflicted on women and children in their area.
Skwatsha visited the family of 10-year-old girl Chelsea Godlo today, whose body was found in her grandfather's house in Gugulethu earlier this week.
Her mother's brothers have been charged with her murder and rape.
Skwatsha says this type of abuse of women and children needs to stop and communities need to help.
"We really should not accept what is happening in our country where women and children are being killed. It really reverses everything that we stand for."
