CAPE TOWN - Both teams' second game of the new Premier Soccer League (PSL) season game started with a lot of promise but failed to produce any first half goals.

Ajax striker Nathan Paulse had a good chance to give the home side the lead in the 11th minute but had no back up in the box.

Sundowns also missed an opportunity when Teko Modise wasn't able to finish from just outside the 18 area.

Both sides were fierce in their attack and had ample opportunities.

Downs captain Alje Schut had to also do some desperate defending to keep a vibrant Tashreeq Morris at bay.

In the second half, Urban Warriors captain Travis Graham buried his long range effort.

The goal took everyone by surprise and certainly livened things up.

Sundowns went on vicious attack to find an equaliser which remained elusive until the final whistle.

The PSL champions brought on Anthony Laffor who instantly made an impact on the game, but missed his opportunities.

On the counter, Paulse missed out on doubling the home side's lead as his header floated over the crossbar.

The win pushes Ajax to fifth position in the PSL while Sundowns are at the bottom in 14th place.
