JOHANNESBURG - Johannesburg police are scrutinising CCTV footage following an armed robbery at the Cresta Shopping Centre on Wednesday in which a shopper was wounded.

A search is also underway for at least four men, who robbed an iStore, making off with phones and tablets.

Cresta Shopping Centre management says the CCTV footage shows the robbery taking place and hopefully the suspects will be identified.

The centre and the iStore have also launched their own investigations, with increasing concern over safety.

Meanwhile some shoppers who spoke to Eyewitness News say they fear it will happen again.

One woman said, "The mall is full of security and this is still happening."

A shopper said, "I think we ought to be a little more careful."

An elderly person who was nearby when the shooting occurred said all shopping malls are vulnerable.

"Maybe they could just beef up their security."

Cresta Shopping Centre management maintain it has extensive security in place.
