Reiger Park: Police conduct DNA tests

Authorities say it’s too early to determine whether the body is that of three-year-old Cuburne van Wyk.

JOHANNESBURG - Police are now conducting DNA tests on a body of a little boy found at a mine dump in Reiger Park in order to establish the child's identity.

Authorities say it's too early to determine whether the body is that of three-year-old Cuburne van Wyk who went missing last week.

This was the second child to fall victim to crime in the area.

Last month, four-year-old Taegrin Morris was dragged to his death behind his mother's hijacked vehicle.

Police say they have no suspects in connection with the body found burnt at a mine dump in Reiger Park.

The DNA test results are expected to be concluded later today.

Meanwhile, the police's Noxolo Kweza says they are still searching for a man with information about the disappearance of van Wyk last week.

Witnesses say they saw a man offering the three-year-old and two other children biscuits then van Wyk left with the man.
