JOHANNESBURG - Police are now trying to confirm if the body of a three-year-old boy found at a mine dump in Reiger Park, Boksburg is that of Curburn van Wyk.
The child was last seen playing with his brother and sister outside his parent's home on Wednesday.
Earlier reports said he was seen in the company of a man known to the community.
The police's Noxolo Kweza said, "We are trying to establish the identity of the child."
This is just the latest incident involving crimes against children.
Four-year-old Taegrin Morris was killed last month, also in Reiger Park, when he was dragged next to his parent's hijacked vehicle after being caught in a seatbelt.
Three-year-old Luke Tibbetts died from his injuries on Friday.
He had been wounded in the head during a shooting in Westbury last weekend.
Meanwhile, Gauteng Premier David Makhura has called for an end to violence against women and children.
He was addressing thousands of people at the national Women's Day ceremony at the Union Buildings.
Yesterday marked 58 years since 20,000 women marched to the seat of government demanding the banning of passbooks.
Mahura added that violence against children was stop.
