Community vowes to resist murder suspects' bail
Seven people will appear in the Hankey Magistrates Court in connection with rape and murder.
CAPE TOWN - An Eastern Cape community has vowed fierce resistance against a group of suspected murderers' bail application tomorrow.
Seven people will appear in the Hankey Magistrates Court in connection with the murder and rape of a six-year-old girl and her aunt last weekend.
Two of the suspects are family members of the deceased.
It's alleged the assailants tried to burn the victims after committing the gruesome crime which has shocked the small town.
Ward counsellor Thandeka Maseti says community members will be protesting outside court.
"We are going to stop them from getting bail because really we don't see them as human beings. Because what they did, really, even older people are fearing for their lives."
