JOHANNESBURG - South African Institute for Drug Free Sport (SAIDS)'s Khalid Galant on Thursday told EWN Sport there is still no hearing date set aside for Daryl Impey.

The only South African to wear the yellow jersey at the Tour de France, tested positive for a banned substance after the South African Championships in February.

Impey denied any knowledge of it or having ever knowingly taken it.

Galant says evidence is still being put together and an agreeable date will be reached soon.

"The two legal councils are still collecting the evidence documents and once all the evidence for both cases has been collected, we'll have a preliminary meeting. We'll seek to find a mutual agreeable date for the hearing."

Galant says the process needs to be thorough

"Both parties want to do it [set a hearing date] as soon as possible. You want to have a date as soon as possible because you don't want to compromise your evidence gathering documentation just because you want a date quickly."
