Glenrico Martin murder case postponed
The Manenberg teenager was shot and killed in Athlone in May 2013.
CAPE TOWN - The family of a Manenberg teenager Glenrico Martin, who was shot dead in a suspected gang shooting, say they are still struggling to deal with his death more than a year after the shooting.
Martin was shot and killed outside Spes Bona High School in Athlone in May 2013.
Nineteen-year-old Jevon Snyman was scheduled to appear in the Western Cape High Court today in connection with Martin's murder.
There was, however, confusion at the court around Snyman's appearance and the case against the youth, who was not present in court today, was postponed.
Snyman will remain in custody in Pollsmoor Prison.
His co-accused, 18-year-old Wilston Stoffels, was sentenced to 24 years behind bars earlier this year after entering into a plea bargain.
Stoffels testified that he and Snyman waited outside the Athlone school which Martin attended with a firearm.
He told the court he shot the teenager in the head when he got out of a taxi.
