JOHANNESBURG - Orlando Pirates defender Happy Jele was back in training on Monday morning after having trouble breathing during Saturday's Carling Black Label Cup.

Jele collapsed in the second half of Saturday's Soweto derby following an elbow to the chest from a Kaizer Chiefs player.

Pirates' Mickey Modisane confirmed the player was given the all-clear by the medical team.

"He struggled to breathe for about 10 to 15 minutes but after being stabilised by the emergency crew, he was better. He was training this morning."

Modisane also gave an update on the contract situation of Siyabonga Sangweni.

The defender's deal expired at the end of June.

Sangweni was linked with a move from the club.

He was however handed the captain's armband for Saturday's pre-season friendly.

Modisane says the defender is still part of the club's plans.

"The chairman reiterated that Sangweni is part of the team, just some things are being finalised."

Club captain Lucky Lekgwathi's future is also uncertain as his contract also expired.

But Modisane says the player is still training with the team.
