JOHANNESBURG - The city of Tshwane has urged residents to refrain from tampering with electrical equipment as cable theft has claimed another life.

The man's body was discovered on a street corner in Pretoria West on Friday.

It is believed he was electrocuted while trying to steal overhead conductors.

Police are investigating the incident.

Municipal spokesman Lindela Mashigo says, "The city once more urges residents not to tamper with any electrical infrastructure and equipment as it can lead to serious injury or death."
