CAPE TOWN - People living in a Valhalla Park informal settlement in the Western Cape say it's been difficult to keep dry over the last few days.

At least 20,000 people have been affected by the recent heavy rains.

Agstelaan informal settlement is one of several that have been affected.

The soaked area has become a playground for children, with many using their Wellington boots as they play in the water puddles.

But for mother of three Jaqueline Dolly, it's been a nightmare. She says her children have no dry clothing, and that her youngest has become sick due to the constant damp.

Meanwhile disaster management teams have spent the better part of the weekend helping those affected by the deluge.
