300 motorists tested for alcohol
Hundreds of motorists were stopped during road blocks last night across the Western Cape.
CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape Traffic Department says it's concerned at the number of people arrested as a result of drunk driving at the start of the weekend.
Hundreds of motorists were stopped during road blocks last night across the province.
Traffic Chief Kenny Africa says more than 300 motorists were tested for an alcohol reading.
He says several have been arrested for being over the legal limit.
"We checked 395 drivers for alcohol. At the end of the day we arrested 11 drunk drivers. The highest reading was recorded on the N2 near Caledon."
There's been one reported death on the Western Cape's roads since last night.
