PRETORIA - A father who was hijacked assaulted and left for dead has been reunited with his son who was kidnapped last week after he was found safe and unharmed in Johannesburg.

Four criminals took six-year-old Mongezi Phike along with the car the men had stolen at gunpoint from his father Aaron at an intersection in Bronkhorstspruit last Tuesday.

Just as Aaron Phike remembers the firearm to his head, his son Mongezi was also able to relive the traumatic incident.

His mother Lizzie said, "My son was angry at them and he even imitated how they put the gun to his father's head."

The hijackers held Mongezi captive from Tuesday to Saturday, then dumped him in the streets of Johannesburg before he was taken to a children's home.

Police say they expect to make arrests soon.
