JOHANNESBURG - The parents of a four-year-old boy who died in a car hijacking in Reiger Park have appealed to authorities to do everything possible to find those responsible.

Taegrin Morris was with his mother and eight-year-old sister outside his grandmother's house when they were approached by three armed men on Saturday evening.

His mother tried to unstrap him, but the hijackers drove away leaving him dangling outside the car.

The little boy's mother, Chantel Morris, says the horror of watching her child being dragged outside her car is unbearable.

"I don't know how many times they drove over him. They drove over my child!"

His father Elwin Morris has a stern warning for the hijackers.

"I feel like killing those people, God must help the police to catch them first before I do."

The suspects are still at large but police are following certain leads.

MOTHER'S HORROR AS CHILD DRAGGED TO DEATH

Chantel couldn't hold back her emotions as she described how her son was pulled out of her arms while she was trying to unstrap him from the vehicle.

"I grabbed him and held him and I pulled him, but he was stuck in the seat belt."

She says she begged the hijackers not to harm her children.

"I told them they could take everything, but I just wanted my children safe, please let me just take my children."

Video: Morris famliy speaks out.

The car was later found abandoned in Boksburg which is about 8km away from Reiger Park, with boy's body still hanging from the vehicle.

Meanwhile, people took to social media Twitter to vent their outrage:
