Cyclists, pedestrians to benefit from William Nicol upgrades
Ismail Vadi says pedestrian and cycle routes will be added to William Nicol Drive.
JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng transport MEC Ismail Vadi says pedestrian and cycle lanes will be added to William Nicol Drive between Dainfern and Diepsloot.
This forms part of upgrades already taking place on one of Johannesburg's busiest roads.
During a site visit to inspect construction progress yesterday, Vadi announced all three lanes in both directions will be fully operational by the end of November.
He urged motorists to be patient.
"It's a farely significant expansion of the road network but on both sides, we are also going to have pedestrian lanes and cycle lanes so it's not just the motorist who benefits ."
