Wait for new Bafana coach almost over
Safa will announce the new Bafana Bafana coach within the next month.
RIO - South African Football Association (Safa) President Danny Jordaan has told Eyewitness News a new Bafana Bafana coach will be unveiled within the next month.
Jordaan is currently in Brazil on duty as a special advisor and says the new coach will have his hands full with special emphasis on developing youth players.
Jordaan says the wait for a new Bafana coach is almost over.
The country has been anticipating the announcement since the governing body revealed Gordon Igesund's contract would not be renewed.
Referring to Carlos Queiroz, a possible candidate for the position who was on display in Brazil, Jordaan says Safa just needs to finalise certain details.
"Two coaches who were in the World Cup indicated their interest and we will finalise that matter by the end of the month or the first week in August."
Jordaan says the new coach will need to have a keener eye at spotting young talent.
