CAPE TOWN - The case against a Cape Town policeman accused of sexually assaulting two teenagers has been postponed for further bail information.

The officer appeared in the Blue Downs Magistrates Court today for allegedly raping two 14-year-old boys over a period of four years.

The warrant officer, who is stationed at the Bellville South police station, was arrested at his Kraaifontein home last week.

He wore a blue jacket and black jeans as he stood up straight in the dock this morning and will remain in custody.

The accused is also receiving medical treatment after slitting his wrist shortly after his arrest.

He faces 10 counts of statutory rape and eight counts of sexual assault for allegedly raping the teenagers on numerous occasions since 2010.

It's also believed he paid them between R50 and R200 so they wouldn't report the crime.

The case has been postponed until 24 July.
