CAPE TOWN - The Red Cross Children's Hospital says a one-year-old girl, who was wounded in an apparent gang-related shooting in Wesbank near Delft has been discharged from hospital.

She was admitted to the health facility following a drive-by shooting in the area nearly 2 weeks ago.

The toddler was in her mother's arms while walking to a nearby shop when the incident occurred.

Hospital spokesperson Angelique Jordaan says, "The patient obtained an abdomen wound, progressed well and has been discharged. She will be coming back for regular check-ups."
