CAPE TOWN - The Ravensmead Community Policing Forum (CPF) says a spike in drive-by shootings in the area is concerning.

A businessman was gunned down in a drive-by shooting shortly after closing his office in Parow Industria in Ravensmead earlier this week.

Police are now searching for three suspects, who fled the scene.

While the CPF's David van Wyk says it's unlikely the incident was gang related, a 28s gangster was killed, also during a drive-by shooting, last week.

Van Wyk says crime and violence is spiralling out of control in the greater Ravensmead community.

"People are afraid to come into our communities because they are afraid things will happen to them as well. We are sitting, as worried leaders, thinking what now? Even our families don't want to visit us because of the shootings."
