Angelina Jolie drug video surfaces
The footage was allegedly recorded in 1999 by a convicted drug dealer.
JOHANNESBURG - Footage showing Angelina Jolie moments after she had allegedly bought drugs, has gone viral.
The footage was allegedly recorded in 1999 by convicted drug dealer Franklin Meyer, who claims he shot the video with the actress's consent.
Meyer, who released the video to the National Enquirer, claims he was Jolie's drug dealer while she was living in New York and says he recorded the footage after supplying her with heroin and cocaine.
The footage depicts a Jolie starkly different from the woman she is today.
Gaunt and full of sores on her arms, she paces up and down an apartment while on the phone, apparently to her father Jon Voight.
In 2011, Jolie referenced to a dark period in her life in US TV show 60 Minutes.
"I went through heavier, darker times and I survived them. I didn't die young, so I'm very lucky. There are other artists and people who didn't survive certain things."
