NSPCA probes Thandi Modise's farm
The NSPCA is investigating allegations of animal neglect & cruelty on Thandi Modise's farm.
CAPE TOWN - The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NSPCA) has launched an investigation into alleged animal neglect and cruelty at National Council of Provinces (NCOP) Chairperson Thandi Modise's Potchefstroom farm.
According to weekend reports, officials found that the animals were left without food and water for nearly two weeks.
This resulted in more than 50 dead pigs, with the remaining 85 cannibalising on rotting carcasses.
The NSPCA's inspector Andries Venter says, "The alleged story is that those who were left in charge of the farm absconded without letting anyone know and as a result, the animals were left without food and water and had to fend for themselves."
