Hanover Park slams WC police
The Hanover Park CPF says police are not working with the community to curb gang violence.
CAPE TOWN - The Hanover Park Community Policing Forum (CPF) has accused Western Cape police of not working with the community to stop the scourge of gang violence.
This comes after an 18-year-old man was shot and killed at the weekend.
It's believed the shooting was gang-related.
The CPF's Ebrahim Abrahams believes police aren't listing to their safety calls, which they believe can curb gang violence.
"It's not working because they've asked us to step down as the CPF from ceasefire - and we've done that. And it's created more killings than anything else."
