Cop murder case postponed
Five suspects appeared in court in connection with the murder of an Mfuleni policeman.
CAPE TOWN - The case against four men and a woman arrested in connection with the murder of a police officer has been postponed in the Blue Downs Magistrates Court on Monday.
The case was put forward to check if the accused had any previous convictions.
Sergeant Xolisa Mlindwa's body was found next to his car in Mfuleni last week.
The five suspects made little eye contact with the public gallery where family and friends of the officer were seated.
Two of the accused where arrested for allegedly being in possession of Mlindwa's firearm and ammunition.
The three others will face an additional charge of murder.
The exact motive for the attack remains unclear.
The case will resume on 14 July.
The accused will remain in custody.
