JOHANNESBURG - Many businesses on the East Rand have been forced to close their doors amid growing fears that they will be targeted by striking workers.
The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) embarked on a strike on Tuesday, demanding a 12 percent wage increase across the board, R1,000 housing allowance hike and the scrapping of labour brokers.
