Delft shooting: Toddler in stable condition
The Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital says the one-year-old girl is making progress.
CAPE TOWN - A one-year-old girl wounded in an apparent gang-related shooting in Wesbank near Delft remains in a stable condition, the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital said on Thursday.
Kivanah Stalbaum was admitted to the Cape Town facility on Friday.
The toddler and her mother were on their way to a shop when a drive-by shooting took place.
Hospital spokesperson Angelique Jordaan says the girl sustained a gunshot wound to her abdomen.
She adds Stalbaum is making progress in her recovery.
