RIO DE JANEIRO - Jimmy Tau has told EWN Sport it's almost impossible to pick a likely winner out of the current Fifa World Cup quarterfinalists.

The final eight have been decided:

Brazil will play Colombia, France host Germany, Netherlands take on Costa Rica and Argentina come up against Belgium.

The former Chiefs and Pirates man, who is in Brazil covering the World Cup for EWN Sport , says it's too early to make a call.

"You can only judge teams because of their pedigree and expectations because once you get to the quarterfinals things can be quiet tricky. Brazil are under so much pressure not only to reach the finals, but to get through to the semifinals."

Tau has placed his bet on three teams he thinks are to watch in the coming remaining matches.

"I'll go with the Netherlands, France, who are the dark horse, and Argentina, who also had to scrape through with that 1-0 win over Switzerland."
