CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape Education Department says it's aware a Cape Town school plans to apply for the expulsion of a girl implicated in a sex video.

The video shows two school girls, who are pupils at Edgemead High, performing a sex act while killing a goldfish.

At least one of them has since deregistered from the school.

The video went viral on social media sites last month.

Department spokesperson, Paddy Atwell says, "We are aware that a school has completed a disciplinary hearing on the case. According to our information the school governing body plans to apply to the department to approve expulsion for one of the two girls involved. We have not received documentation on the hearing yet."
