Agang SA: Anti-Ramphele members expelled
Party members were allegedly warned not to hold a meeting as it was not properly constituted.
JOHANNESBURG - Agang SA on Tuesday confirmed members involved in a meeting to suspend party leader Mamphela Ramphele have been expelled.
Members were allegedly warned not to hold the meeting in Alexandra in northern Johannesburg on Sunday as it was not properly constituted.
After the gathering, Agang SA Deputy President Andries Tlouamma announced Ramphele was suspended pending a disciplinary hearing.
Agang SA interim spokesperson Philip Machanick said the names of those suspended would not be released until all notices had been drawn up and issued.
"The party's national executive committee had no choice but to expel the main participants of the event."
