More Limpopo mayors recalled
There is speculation the mayors were linked to former premier Cassel Mathale and Julius Malema.
JOHANNESBURG - Three more mayors have been recalled as a result of restructuring in some municipalities, the Limpopo ANC said on Tuesday.
Four other mayors were recalled last week.
The mayors were alleged to have links to former Limpopo premier Cassel Mathale and ex-ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema.
New mayors have been appointed at all the municipalities.
The changes show that Limpopo leadership, under Secretary Nocks Seabi, now feels it can assert itself.
This after Mathale was moved out of the province by the national ANC.
During Mathale's tenure, the ANC placed five provincial departments under the control of national government due to financial mismanagement and a failure to provide basic services.
