JHB survey: Tshwane best place to live
Mayoral spokesman Blessing Manale says Tshwane scored well above Johannesburg.
JOHANNESBURG - The City of Tshwane (Pretoria) has been officially voted the best place to live in Gauteng.
A Gauteng City-Region Observatory survey, which measured the quality of life in municipalities across the province, names Tshwane as the best city in the province with the highest quality of life.
Mayor Kgosientso Ramokgopa told the Pretoria news he is humbled by the accolade and labelled it a call for the city to improve efficiencies and deliver better services.
Ramokgopa says increased capital spending, focus on youth development and economic participation had placed the city of Tshwane as the best.
Mayoral spokesman Blessing Manale says Tshwane scored well above Johannesburg and Ekurhuleni.
"The survey is a scientific analysis of numerous indicators. We will see this outcome as more pressure for the city to excel and rebuild our capital city that will take us into the next century."
