CAPE TOWN - More arrests are possibly on the cards in a fraud case that's seen the Mayor of the Buffalo City Municipality in the Eastern Cape being apprehended.

Mayor Zukiswa Ncitha, her deputy and the speaker and three other officials were arrested for fraud during Nelson Mandela's memorial in the Eastern Cape last year.

The Hawks' Paul Ramaloko says two business people were arrested on Tuesday.

"All six officials were released on a R10,000 each, a day after we had arrested two business people."

It's alleged the municipality misused around R6 million.

Politically connected entrepreneurs reportedly cashed in on the former president's memorial service in December.

Mandela passed away at his Johannesburg home in early December.

His funeral service took place in his home town of Qunu in the Eastern Cape.
