Delft shooting: Baby recovers in hospital
A five-month-old baby boy who was shot in Delft is recovering at Tygerberg Hospital.
CAPE TOWN - A five-month-old baby boy, who was wounded in a shooting in Delft earlier this week, is making a steady recovery at the Tygerberg Hospital.
The infant's mother was shot on Tuesday night, she died on the scene.
The incident occurred near their home.
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear.
Tygerberg Hospital's Laetitia Pienaar says, "The baby was brought in on Tuesday evening. He is currently in our paediatric High Care Unit and he's in a stable condition."
It's understood the suspect fled the scene.
