NUM rejects Eskom's wage offer
The union has rejected a 5.6 salary increase from the power giant.
JOHANNESBURG - The National Union of Mineworkers has rejected a 5.6 percent salary increase from Eskom.
The union met with the power giant yesterday to discuss its wage dispute.
The NUM wants a 12 percent increase across the board.
NUM chief negotiator Helen Diatile has accused Eskom of disrespecting workers' rights, saying they're undermining the negotiations.
"We got in there and there was no discussion. This relationship is beginning to be suspicious."
