JOHANNESBURG - Cypriot George Louca will go on trial for killing strip club boss Lolly Jackson in January next year.

Louca made a brief appearance in the Kempton Park Magistrates Court earlier today.

He is accused of murdering Jackson at a house he was renting in Edleen, Kempton Park, in 2010.

After an almost four-year extradition battle, the accused was successfully extradited from Cyprus to South Africa in February.

He fled South Africa after Jackson was killed.

Louca allegedly phoned then Gauteng crime intelligence boss Joey Mabasa and confessed to the murder before fleeing the country for Cyprus.

But Louca has always claimed he is just the fall guy for the hit.

Louca will go on trial from 26 January until 6 March next year in the High Court sitting in Palm Ridge.

He faces separate charges of money laundering and possession of stolen goods which will be heard in a separate trial in the regional court in Kempton Park.
