JOHANNESBURG - Police say they are trying to control a series of murders reported around a stretch of veld in Dobsonville, Soweto.

Yesterday, the decomposing body of a 33-year-old woman was found in the same veld where two school girls died in an apparent satanic killing in February.

Authorities say it is still unclear how the woman was killed but it's suspected she may have been raped before she was murdered.

Police say they are concerned by the increasing number of incidents in the area.

Despite attempts to intensify their patrolling efforts, police say they continue to find bodies on the stretch of land.

Officials now suspect the veld is being used as a dumping ground for murders committed in other parts of Soweto.
