Case against 'kidnapper dad' postponed
A 50-year-old man is accused of locking his four children in a room for close to a decade.
JOHANNESBURG - The Alexandra Magistrates Court has again postponed the case of a man accused of locking his four children in a room in the Nobuhle hostel for close to a decade.
The man appeared in court today where his case was postponed to allow him to apply for legal representation.
The 50-year-old is appearing on charges of child neglect.
He was arrested earlier this month after his eldest child, a 24-year-old man, freed himself from the room and sought help.
The accused has reportedly told officials that he and his wife locked the children up to protect them from the world.
He is expected back in court later this month for a formal bail application.
