EFF: Ramaphosa's govt role 'diminished'
The EFF says the deputy president’s key duties have been delegated to Jeff Radebe.
JOHANNESBURG - The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) says Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa's role in government has been seriously diminished following the recent Cabinet reshuffle.
EFF leader Julius Malema has also criticised the size of President Jacob Zuma's new Cabinet.
Malema says Ramaphosa's key duties have been delegated to the Minister in the Presidency, Jeff Radebe.
"President Zuma has reduced the deputy president into ceremonial duties and given all the key tasks to the minister in the presidency, for example, planning monitoring and evaluation. It is wasteful to have a deputy president whose primary duty is to attend to ceremonial functions as opposed to executive duties."
