JOHANNESBURG - South African Football Association (Safa) President Danny Jordaan says any decision on coach Gordon Igesund's future will be based on fact and not sentiment.

Igesund will meet a Safa committee on Monday to discuss whether he will be retained as head coach of the national team.

With Igesund's contract due to expire in July and reports circulating about coaches already being approached to replace him, the Bafana Bafana coach will have to come out fighting if he wants to continue in the job.

Igesund has taken charge of 32 matches in his time as head coach with Bafana only having lost seven times.

It is this record that he hopes will keep him in charge as Jordaan admits facts rather than sentiments will decide his future.

"It's not a decision that will be based on happiness or emotion. It will be based on evidence in front of us."

Igesund's record at tournaments however does not make for good reading as his side failed to progress past the quarter finals of the 2013 African Cup of Nations.
