JOHANNESBURG - The North West Provincial Government is investigating claims of a possible cholera outbreak in the Boitumelong Township in Bloemhof.

Local clinics have been swamped with patients complaining about diarrhoea and cholera-like symptoms recently.

A baby has died and five others were admitted to hospital for observation on Friday after they allegedly drank contaminated water.

North West Government Spokesperson Lesiba Kgwele says water samples have been taken for testing.
