CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape does not have the highest vehicle licencing fees in the country, the provincial department of transport said on Friday.

Rates increased by more than five percent last year, making the increase the first hike since 2005.

The tariff is expected to increase by a further 3,4 percent in July.

The department's Sanele Nyoka says KwaZulu-Natal is the most expensive, followed by the Western Cape.
