CAPE TOWN - Stormers utility back Damian de Allende could be making his Springbok debut against a World XV at Newlands next weekend.

Francois Steyn, the likely candidate to replace the injured Jean De Villiers in the No. 12 jersey is also battling with a troublesome knee.

That opens up the door for the young Stormers player to start, possibly alongside Blue Bulls centre, Jan Serfontein.

Bok coach Heyneke Meyer says he's impressed by the team this season.

"I would love to look at them as a combination, but obviously you don't have time and you don't want to have to go in with too many guys changing, but that is an option. I have thought about that. They are both young and are very excited, but you also have to defend, that is an option."

Meyer says he is considering de Allende as a future outside centre.

"Damian has played 13 at school and he is used to playing at 13. I have only seen him as a 12 and a 14 and I definitely want to look at him as a 13 because I have always liked big, quick strong centres like Jaque Fourie."
