JOHANNESBURG - Kwaito star 'Brickz' is due back in the Roodepoort Magistrates Court this morning on charges of rape.

Brickz, whose real name is Sipho Ndlovu, is accused of raping a 16-year-old in March last year, but the rape was only reported in October.

Ndlovu was arrested and charged on 1 November and is out on R50,000 bail.

Ndlovu spent the most part of December behind bars after he was initially denied bail on the basis he was a flight risk and would interfere with state witnesses.

The kwaito star claims he lost over R3 million in revenue during his incarceration, but after appealing the matter in the Johannesburg High Court, he was granted bail.

Ndlovu's lawyer Isaac Mokgopi says despite claims that the star has a history of evading the law, his client is innocent until proven guilty.
