JOHANNESBURG - An eighth suspect has been arrested in connection with a plot to kill Crime Intelligence officer Nkosana 'Killer' Ximba and private investigator Paul O'Sullivan.

Czech fugitive Radovan Krejcir and six others are currently facing charges related to the same case.

The latest suspect to be arrested will appear in the Alexandra Magistrates Court on Monday.

He faces charges of conspiracy to commit murder, and unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.

The 36-year-old is also believed to be the hitman who gunned down Lebanese businessman Sam Issa in Bedfordview last year.

Police spokesperson Solomon Makgale said the man was arrested on Thursday after he was shot in the leg during an armed robbery in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal.

"At the time of the shooting, the suspect was also in possession of a vehicle that had been reported stolen in the Bayview area of Chatsworth in Durban."
