Yolande Korkie pleads with husband's kidnappers
Next week will mark exactly one year since the Bloemfontein teacher was abducted.
JOHANNESBURG - The wife of Bloemfontein teacher Pierre Korkie has just released a second video appealing to his al-Qaeda kidnappers in Yemen to show mercy and release him.
Next week will mark exactly one year since Korkie and his wife Yolande were kidnapped in that country.
Yolande was released in January to raise her husband's ransom of more than R30 million.
In the emotional video, Yolande pleaded with her husband's abductors to return him.
"A year has passed and my husband Pierre is still in captivity. He is gravely ill and could die from complications of his condition. Please release him, we will be so grateful."
In February, Yolande and her children released a video pleading with the kidnappers for Korkie's safe release.
The kidnappers have threatened to execute Korkie if his family fails to pay the ransom.
Korkie's health has been a great concern, but his family says they won't give up hope that he will return home.
