Parties prepare for National Assembly
Political parties are gearing up for Wednesday when 400 National Assembly ministers will be sworn in.
CAPE TOWN - Political parties are gearing up for Wednesday when 400 National Assembly members will be sworn in as parliamentarians.
They will include newcomers the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), led by expelled African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) leader Julius Malema.
Meanwhile, ANC Secretary General Gwede Mantashe is set to address his party's ministers at their first caucus meeting on Tuesday afternoon.
The ANC went on to win 249 seats in the National Assembly following this year's elections.
Parliamentary spokesperson Moloto Mothapo says the meeting will serve as preparation for Wednesday's swearing in.
Democratic Alliance (DA) ministers will have their first caucus meeting on Wednesday.
