CAPE TOWN - 60 people have been displaced after a fire ripped through the Masiphumelele informal settlement near Fish Hoek.

In another incident, 10 families lost all their belongings in a fire at a Wallacedene informal settlement leaving 43 people homeless.
The city's Disaster Risk Management's Wilfred Solomons-Johannes says, "The city dispatched disaster response teams to both incidents quickly and to provide the necessary relief aid.
"The circumstances are unclear at this stage how the fire occurred and the authorities will investigate."
