JOHANNESBURG - The Basic Education Department says it will report a website that promotes violence in schools to authorities in an effort to get it shut down.

The website, which encourages children to post videos of school fights for cash, also has a page on Facebook portraying school fights from all over the country and offers a subscriber option.

If you sign up, all new videos will be sent to your phone.

The department's Elijah Mhlanga says, "There's violence, there's drug abuse, there's all these social ills that take place in a school environment and we feel this website is doing more damage to the campaign that we have to eradicate these social ills."
