CAPE TOWN - The case against a 42-year-old man who allegedly raped a four-year-old girl has been postponed until next week for a formal bail application.

The alleged crime took place at a village near Kuruman in the Northern Cape.

The suspect made a second appearance in the Mothibistad Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

He had apparently lured the girl to his house with biscuits before sexually assaulting her.

The police's Olebogeng Tawana made an appeal to the parents and guardians of young children to be aware of criminals.
