The ‘Herald’ newspaper says it would dent the ANC's image if it is seen fighting on the DA's side.

JOHANNESBURG - Zimbabwe's state media is urging the ANC to work closely with Julius Malema's Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).

In an editorial published today, the state-run_ Herald _says it would dent the ruling party's image if it is seen fighting on the Democratic Alliance (DA)'s side in Parliament.

The paper says the DA represents "a homage to apartheid's ugly head."

The newspaper, which is seen as the voice of President Robert Mugabe's government, urges the ANC to work closely with the EFF in Parliament, rather than with the DA.

It says by doing so, it will cement its legacy as a party of liberation and, if it wants to, get the votes to change the Constitution to better meet the needs of blacks.
